Extension OK'd for counties to meet plan deadline
Gov. Bob Graham and the Cabinet on Tuesday approved t six month extension for Southern Okaloosa and Walton counties to meet Resource Management Plan requirements. Tom Lewis of the Department of Community Affairs said the extension was approved with little discussion. The DCA had recommended the extension after a prior threat to designate the area as state critical concern met with strong local opposition.
