Walton County creates seven member airport authority
Walton County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution creating a seven member airport authority to facilitate an airport in South Walton. The authority will include district representatives and two at large members serving four year terms, with funding from public and private sources. The panel will seek FAA sponsorship and funding while the county bears construction and operation costs. A December 9 appointment date was set, and a regional impact study for DGI holdings near Point Washington was tentatively planned to influence regulatory oversight.
