Taxi cabs cleared to operate at Okaloosa Airport
Okaloosa County commissioners voted to allow taxi service at the Okaloosa County Air Terminal. The move ends Florida Car Company's monopoly with a $600 annual permit per cab, funds redirected to the company through Feb 1988. Taxi operators won but objected to insurance and other rules.

Air Traffic To Increase Says Study Northwest Florida
A Dynaplan International forecast for Northwest Florida projects a rise in air traffic as population and employment grow. The study, presented to the Northwest Florida Regional Steering Committee on Aviation, estimates rapid growth in Escambia, Leon, Okaloosa and Bay counties with similar employment gains. It analyzes passenger origins, aircraft types, and base inventories, noting existing constraints and the need to assess airport expansion or new facilities while keeping site specifics noncommittal. The committee plans a January meeting to review system alternatives and airspace limitations due to military activity.
