Changing Behavior Cuts Heart Attack Recurrence, Study Finds
Friedman of Mount Zion Medical Center reported at the AHA session that 613 patients who received group therapy to alter Type A behavior after a heart attack had 75 percent show behavioral change over four years and half fewer subsequent heart attacks than those who did not receive counseling. The approach aims to reduce stress-linked hormones and reframe personality factors associated with risk.

Ambergris find linked to nearshore sperm whale sighting
Warrick recalls spotting a sperm whale 40 to 50 yards offshore near Blue Mountain Beach a year earlier amid a swoosh sound. The ambergris washed ashore after drifting in the Gulf, turning amber as it dried, with one side grayish black. He credits prior reading with prompting the discovery and notes high waves may have stirred the sand.
