Annual Meeting Planned by Holiday Isle Improvement Association
The Holiday Isle Improvement Association schedules its general membership annual meeting for Saturday July 14 at the Islander Condominium on Holiday Isle. Members will elect new directors for 1984 85 and hear results of a tidal influence study by Florida Engineering Services Inc. The $5 000 project researched tide changes in Old Pass Lagoon and the Gulf of Mexico in all weather. The meeting begins at 2 p.m.

Fire destroys trailer at Destin Campground on Beach Drive
Destin Fire Department battled a Friday night blaze at the Destin Campground on Beach Drive. Three engines arrived as flames shot from the trailer roof after a back bedroom window blew out. The unoccupied trailer started by a call from a 14 year old girl who found the fire. The source of the fire remains unknown.

Florida docks registration deadline extended to September 30
The Florida Department of Natural Resources extended the commercial dock registration deadline by 90 days from June 30 to Sept 30 for grandfathered docks built before March 10 1970. Existing qualifying docks must be registered. private single family docks are exempt. Lease requirements apply to new commercial docks and larger private or condo docks. pre 1970 docks can be grandfathered or exempt from lease until Jan 1 1998.

Wadkowski pleaded not guilty in Okaloosa County Court to distributing literature on public beaches without a permit.
