Sandy Ward of Southland Systems attended Centel of Florida’s Equal Access seminar in Tallahassee to prepare for Fort Walton Beach’s September 1 1987 conversion. The plan deregulates long distance dialing enabling calls to switch directly via Centel central offices. Centel will mail ballots in early June to local subscribers to choose a preferred carrier.
