Frankie Schneider dominated the Delmar Raceway feature, charging from 9th to win the 25 lap NASC AR sanctioned event in front of a large crowd. Peanuts Smith surged to second, with Horace Williams third after a spin, as a 25 l ap rugged race included crashes, spins, and spectacular driving. Delaware Stock Car Racing Association touted more events at Delmar Raceway as crowds swelled to 3,500. Maryland per capita income in 1951 stood at 1714 dollars, per state report.
Wyoming and Frederica won their semi finals to reach the best of five championship. Wyoming defeated Felton 12 7 with Berry earning his 8th win while Frederica downed Harrington 8 6 behind McClamrock six strong innings. The opening game at Caesar Rodney Sunday features Frederica vs Wyoming with Kimmel vs Berry on the mound.
Harry Harrison dives during an Hopewell Va regatta run by Hopewell Boat Club. He led early heat one before a rival struck him from behind crashing his boat. He recovered to finish second in that heat and earned a first place trophy in the later event.
