Parksley Wins Eastern Shore Baseball Pennant Race
Twenty five years ago a fire engine demonstration proved its water throwing efficiency from river and town mains. Parksley clinched the Eastern Shore league pennant as Virginia’s team led the standings with enough wins to secure the title. Preston and Denton squads drew big crowds in home games. Also covered: a Ridgely wedding of Miss Mary Slaughter and Leonard Maxwell Goodwin, with community leaders in attendance, and local social news including hospital visits and obituaries.
