Denton Mfg Employees Entertained With Turkey Dinner
Last Thursday evening October 26 1950 the Denton Manufacturing Co employees were treated to a turkey dinner at the Community House by owner Sam Greenfeld. Guests included Mr. and Mrs Bernard Litten of Philadelphia Mrs Sam Greenfeld of Atlantic City and several Denton and Sharptown residents. The program featured piano and violin recitals and Morris Sneider spoke about the plant’s 21 year history. The gathering closed with a group singing of God Bless America.

Funeral services for six year old William Isaac Pearson of Greensboro were held Sunday at 2 p m with Rev Gray son H Wheatley of St Pauls Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in Greensboro Cemetery. Six first grade boys served as pallbearers. State Trooper E C Meyers said the boy ran backward into a Corkran Hill Company truck from Baltimore driven by Frederick Schaub. He is survived by his parents Clarence and, Mrs Pearson, and a brother Larry.

Hart Rampmeyer of Ridgely suffered a compound fracture of the left leg below the knee during a Greensboro versus Ridgely soccer game Sunday afternoon. He received first aid from Dr. Charles H. Stonesifer and was moved to Memorial Hospital in Easton. Meanwhile Girl Scouts from all five troops plan a leaf rake on Court House Square Saturday at 3 pm with a dusk leaf burning and songs to close Girl Scout Week.

Mrs Grace E Helfrich of Preston and Baltimore died last Sunday at her daughter’s home in Baltimore aged 76. November 1 Heat Record Tops 82 Degrees Nationwide
A new high for November 1 occurred as the mercury climbed to 82 degrees here, surpassing the prior date record of 74 set in 1919 and matched in 1929. Cooler air from Canada was expected to move into the region over the weekend, while much of the East enjoyed unseasonably warm conditions before the front arrived.
