United Nations Flag Presented To High School Tuesday
The Williston Club 4 H girls presented a blue Peace Flag with a white world map and olive leaves to Caroline High School in an assembly on United Nations Day Tuesday October 24. The project joins hands of sixty nations and is echoed by 35000 flags made nationwide by 4 H clubs and home makers. The Williston girls celebrated observing United Nations Day with this gesture.

At the Caroline County Health Association annual meeting held at Caroline High School on Thursday evening October 19 reports from committees on tuberculosis cancer Red Cross polio mental hygiene nursing and Salvation Army were presented. Treasurer Miss Helen R Sherwood reported 465.54 in checking and 1561.96 in building funds. Miss Mattie M Smith noted 4376 nurse visits in 1949 and 2199 through Sept 30 1950 with 612 bedside. Building goals by district were set totaling 39900 with specific district pledges and a building fund list. Final reports due November 3. An exhibit on care of premature infants showcased public health nursing efforts.

Weigle to Be Inaugurated President at St John’s College
Richard Daniel Weigle will be inaugurated as the 18th president of the 254 year old St. John’s College this Saturday at noon under the Liberty Tree. The ceremony will be attended by representatives from more than 200 educational institutions, alumni and state officials. Noble C. Powell will give the invocation and Richard F. Cleveland will invest Dr. Weigle as president. Owens of the Baltimore Sun will be principal speaker.

Dr Byrd To Address Caroline Poultrymen Banquet
Dr H C Curley Byrd president of the University of Maryland will be the principal speaker at the Caroline County Poultry Association Banquet on Wednesday night November 1 in the Denton Armory. Greensboro Man Kills Wife Before Self at Moran Farm
Marshall Roy, 31 colored tenant on David Moran’s Greensboro farm, shot wife Mary Hester Rox, 46, fatally and wounded son Irvin Res, 21, during an argument. Roy then shot himself in a vacant lot near his son Elwood Roy, dying two hours later. Four daughters and two sons survive. two other sons and additional relatives listed. Authorities report the family scene unfolded near the Moran farm in Greensboro, with victims treated at Easton Hospital.

Denton Girl Scouts Plan Window Displays for Week
The Senior Troop met at Mrs. Lea Warwick's home on October 23. They completed posters to be shown in store windows during Girl Scout week starting October 29, including the R E A building celebration of Juliette Low's birthday. A handicraft display will be part of the Tea on November 2 at the Community Club House from three to five. The troop plans a Halloween party at the next meeting after attending church on October 28.

Republicans To Tour Caroline Saturday
On Saturday October 28 Republicans will hold a Caroline County tour with state candidates William A. Gunter John Marshall Butler Edward T. Miller and county contenders. Judge Carter Speaks On Maryland Juvenile Court System
Judge J DeWeese Carter of Denton told the Maryland Children s Aid Society state meeting in Baltimore that child treatment under law emerged around 1900 and evolved toward rehabilitating youths rather than punishing acts. He noted Maryland s Juvenile Court Law reached 18 of 23 counties in 1945 and praised the society s role in investigations and probation in the Second Judicial Circuit, stressing partnership between social agencies and courts and the rights of underprivileged children.
