Milk Producers file brief for Baltimore milkshed order
The Maryland Cooperative Milk Producers filed with the Secretary of Agriculture a 100 page brief supporting a Federal Milk Marketing Order for the Baltimore milkshed. The proposal adjusts Class I pricing to about 5 to 9 dollars per hundredweight with an annual average of 5.55. The group urges including Maryland’s Eastern Shore counties in the order, warning without it prices fall for 150 local producers and dealers and market share may be lost to Baltimore.
