Caroline County April 1947 Health Department activities
April 1947 health efforts included National Negro Health Week preschool exams tuberculin tests and serologic syphilis tests for students. High school and elementary groups viewed tuberculosis and syphilis films. Meetings of the Eastern Shore Medical Society and Maryland medical faculty occurred. Arrangements for hospital birth notifications, Open House events, and vaccination drives were made. Clinics continued. preschool clinics planned for white schools in May and X ray unit arrival in May. Immunizations included smallpox 23, diphtheria, whooping cough, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever vaccines.
