Maryland PMA Outlines Three Steps of Farm Program

Maryland PMA Chairman Joseph H Blandford explains three steps of the Production and Marketing Administration plan: stockpiling via loan and purchase programs, expanded soil and water conservation practices, and shifting land from unneeded crops to those in need. He cites 526,552 bushels of wheat and 133,862 bushels of corn enrolled this year. He urges farmers to contact local Triple A offices for details on rates and deadlines for 1949. The article also notes a possible referendum if wheat overproduction demands acreage controls and invites Secretary Brannan to a Maryland PMA meeting in Baltimore in late May with a two day program and banquet.
