Timekeeping Chief Explains Tiny Daylength Shifts

Sir Harold Spencer Jones, astronomer royal of Great Britain, states the mean day length is changing in two minute ways. The other change is incalculable, sometimes faster or slower, possibly tied to slight planetary expansion or contraction and seasonal mass shifts. No major change since 1618 is evident, though small annual variations are possible due to atmospheric movements altering inertia.
