Delegate John Wood Logan introduces T. B. 518 to grant Denton a modern home rule charter. Prepared with town officials and local groups, it expands to Butler's Terrace, shifts to five commissioners, and adopts secret ballots. It also enables a town treasurer, clerk, tax exemptions up to ten years, building and fire codes, and a zoning commission.

Mian 75 Killed in Car Wreck Near Anderson
Bates Smith 75 of near Anderson town died after being struck by a car driven by Axel Hellengren 70 of near Federalsburg on Saturday afternoon. Five people were injured including an 81-year-old woman. Smith survived by one son George Smith of Hickman and three married daughters. Trooper F E C Myer of the Maryland State Police investigated. Funeral at 2 p m Wednesday with burial at Wesley Church Cemetery Burrsville Md.

The Caroline County Health Center is now a reality after a long drive to raise funds. Chair Tfarrs of Ricek of the Caroline County Health Association Building Finance Committee announced only about 21,500 remains, guaranteed by generous contributors. He thanked county newspapers and sponsors and highlighted Dr. H. A. B. Dunning with a $5000 gift and other publicity support that propelled the effort.

Frank S. Green, 51, was sentenced by Judge Carter in Caroline County Circuit Court to 10 years for assaulting George Fletcher Draper, 71, of Goldsboro, last fall with intent to kill. Draper died days after the attack in a Wilmington hospital. his death was not attributed solely to the beating.
