Methodists finance bicycle for Indian circuit rider
Easton District Ministers Association of the Peninsula Methodist Conference donated 15 dollars at a Denton meeting to purchase a bicycle for a twentieth century circuit rider in India. Rev Julian Nane said bicycles would aid ministers reaching villages up to 15 to 20 miles away, amid hopes among untouchables to embrace Christianity as castes fade. He warned holding Christians in India may grow harder as Britain withdraws, with native students favoring English departure and civil conflict risk. The group also opposed gambling and announced a spring youth institute at St Michaels on April 26.
