Farmers Arrange Delivery Of Conservation Materials In Md

Maryland farmers receive guidance on delivering conservation materials under the Agricultural Conservation Program. Farmers must use county issue forms at the dealer, pay the balance, as government covers only part. Triple-A offices will not arrange deliveries this year, leaving details to farmers and dealers. The State PMA Committee also defines 34 cubic feet Marl as equivalent to one ton of ground limestone for lime applications. It supports payment based on chemical analysis, with higher quality materials earning higher payments. Mars marl beds in Washington and Frederick counties supply liming material, but high water content influenced payment calculations. The committee now uses volume measures to simplify marl usage under the program. The 1948 grain support program results follow from Blandford’s remarks.
