He helped hold our team together when injuries had stricken a number of our key players. Bud Shipley catcher has added plenty of spirit to the club. Veteran observers have expressed an opinion that two or three route going pitchers to help Bill Defoe and Mike Marche would boost the Federalsburg aggregation. John Dutch Brennan dipped into the Eastern Shore sandlots this past week to sign Calvin Cabby Dize of Crisfield to a Federalsburg contract. The 22 year old right hander, a four year war veteran, made his home debut Sunday afternoon against the Milford Red Sox. Dize, a husky six footer, won six games and lost but one for the Crisfield Bobcat Maroa Amateur League Club. This spring he was recommended by Dan Pasquella of Crisfield, former minor league player.
