Mr and Mrs S L Tribbitt of Denton and Mr Ralph Holland spent Christmas Day with Mr Holland's family. The brief note records a holiday gathering among local residents in Denton.
Geraldine Lapham became Mrs Edgar Harman in a candle light ceremony at the Lapham home with Rev. Gilbert Ross presiding. Attendants included maid of honor Aileen Evans and best man Samuel Virden. After a two week southern trip, they will reside in a new home on the Dover highway between Marydel and Dover.
A list of last weeks visits includes RIDGELYs Max Walker and daughter Maxine of Newport and others from New Oxford Hanover and Philadelphia. Guests included Mr and Mrs Wilmer Ulsh and Mr and Mrs Joseph Hammond Sr and Jr with Mrs Gilbert Johnson of Federalsburg and Mrs Harry Swann. Several couples hosted dinners and trips to Baltimore Miami and Philadelphia with extended family and friends sharing time together.
Nine tax ditch associations in Caroline County will elect managers this Saturday January 8 under the new drainage law effective 1942. Each ditch selects one manager for a three year term. two other terms follow for two and one year respectively. Other pre 1941 ditches set March 35 1949 for their meeting and elections. Notices will remind managers of the election.
