Christmas Celebrations Dot Marydel Families
The Marydel News notes numerous Christmas gatherings across households in Marydel and nearby towns. Mr. and Mrs. James Scotten celebrate 39th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day. Families visit, gifts exchanged, and a Maytag washer and other presents noted. A 50th anniversary for John S Stafford and wife Nora Walls observed December 28. Community events include the Marydel Homemakers Club January meeting and church group gatherings. A fire destroys the Drake Amos Everett farm home near Ingleside. Several residents plan winter travels to Florida, Georgia, and other states.
