S C S Report On Caroline County Feed Grain Signup

Signup for the 1964 feed grain program opened February 10 and runs through March 27. University of Maryland expert John Crothers says the drive aims to cut the national feed grain carry over to 45 to 50 million tons, about 40 percent below two years earlier, with acreage diversion stabilizing prices. Eligible participants include those with a 1959 or 1960 feed grain base, while others may appeal to the county ASC committee before March 8. On farms with multiple grains, bases will combine into a corn base and a barley base, with diversions allowed between the two crops and payment computed by actual crop basis.
