Reaching the Moon Is Major Scientific Problem
Dr I M Levitt of Fels planetarium proposes a 250 by 75 foot cigar shaped rocket to reach the moon. Fuel would be alcohol and liquid oxygen, giving two miles per second and need seven to escape Earth. Step rockets could provide the extra push to escape velocity, after which the ship would orbit Earth as a satellite for weather, experiments, radar navigation, and clearer astronomical observations.

Early infant mortality toll in first month rises
The statistician report shows about 78,000 babies die in the United States during the first month after birth each year, more than twice the deaths in the next 11 months. Premature birth accounts for about half the first month loss, with survival linked to birth weight. A baby up to 2 pounds 3 ounces has a 95 percent first month death rate, while babies over 5 pounds 4 ounces have under 1 percent.
