In 1899 F. B. and F. L. R. Nuttle started a hardware store in Denton. D. Ralph Horsey ran it from 1932 to 1944, then T. Carville Fleetwood became proprietor. A 1947 Franklin Street branch sold Allis-Chalmers tractors and implements, later adding Ferguson. The firm, led by Fleetwood with partners and staff in hardware and farm machinery, was a top Harrisburg branch dealer in 1951.

Six new members were voted in. The annual picnic was set for Garland Lake on Monday night August 11 at 6 30. The next meeting is September 4.

Wright Reunion At Choptank Recalls Family Gathering
Descendants of John Riley Wright and Ann Kimmey Wright held a reunion at Estelle Wrights home in Choptank on Sunday July 27 1952. Nellie Jump chaired the meeting with a brief business session. The group sang prayed read minute records from 1951 and honored deceased relatives with gladioli arrangements and a moment of silence. Notables included George Messick Milford Del who provided piano music and several relatives from Delaware New Jersey New York attended followed by a buffet lunch and departures around 5:30 PM.

Ocean Downs Opens Fourth 20-Night Meet This Week
Ocean Downs Raceway opened its fourth 20 night meet this week with more than 700 horses. Governor Elbert H. Carvel attended the inaugural night as two divisions of the Delaware Stakes, each for 1125, were run. Racing secretary C Stuart McLean, Jr., praises the trotting field and track. Two major stakes nights are set for Friday and Saturday featuring the 1500 Maryland pace and top trotters including Berlin Airlift and Nancy Allen among others.

Motorists headed westward over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Sunday found crossing the new span as slow as the old ferries with five miles of cars queued along Route 50.
