Atomic Energy Aids Dentistry Says Journal of ADA
The Journal of the American Dental Association reports atomic energy research can advance dental science by tracing medicants and bio logical compounds with precision, enabling tests of filling materials and decay prevention. An atomic energy committee to promote research is appointed, chaired by Dr J L Appleton. Dr William Ward Wainwright describes teeth tests with radioactive substances showing some materials penetrate whole tooth while others do not, a finding noted as major for dental decay.

Miracle drugs push farm animal fattening gains
Reports show that $1.60 worth of new miracle drugs plus $100 of regular feed can bring pigs and poultry to market much earlier. Feeding costs drop as 30 to 50 pounds of feed per hundred pounds of pork are saved, with similar savings for turkeys and chickens. The antibiotics used for animals do not affect human antibiotic supplies, and broths once discarded are being salvaged for animal treatment.
