Girls parents and leaders from the county attended the Concord rally. Miss Virginia Kern and Joanne Jackson led activities. A cake and biscuit contest determined exhibitors to represent Caroline County at the State Exhibit in College Park in August with winners Norma Clopper Dorothy Quillen Joan Morgan Barbara Fuchs and Martha Harrington earning spots in baking categories.

The sixtieth semi annual meeting of the Eastern Shore District of the Maryland Federation of Women's Clubs was held in Denton on Thursday April 17 at Grace Methodist Church. Morning session opened by Mrs Elmer F Ruark with invocation by Rev Thomas J Turkington. Mrs J D Showell led pledge and Star Spangled Banner sung by group. State President Mrs Harry R Christopher attended. Welcome by Denton Community Club president Mrs William G Towers. Corsages given to each member. Business included minutes, treasurer and president reports and Maryland song. District officers and guests introduced. Medical Profession tribute read. Lunch served at two churches. Afternoon town meeting organized by Education Department yielded profit. Baltimore based speaker Mrs H Matthew Gault spoke briefly. On January 30, 1951 bids opened for Caroline High addition with accepted totals of General Contract Phillips and Thompson 113800.00, Plumbing Heating Electrical J Noble Hardesty 27700.00. New construction includes eight elementary classrooms, toilets, and a central heating plant with glazed tile corridors and acoustical ceilings, aluminum windows, stage upgrades, and interior/exterior painting. The project is over 80 percent complete and slated for occupancy before September. On January 15, 1952 bids opened for Lockerman addition. low bidders were Thompson 87600.00 for general, J Frank Patchett 14750.51 for plumbing heating, and Gale Electric Company 2534.00 for electrical. Greensboro voters will choose three city commissioners on Monday April 28 1952 between 1 and 6 pm.
