Maryland Farm Programs Boost Dairies and Conservation
Maryland farmers can raise dairy income by increasing pasture using lime, phosphates, and potash, plus contour furrowing and permanent pastures. State PMA reports 13,000 of 19,000 1946 applications approved, averaging about 123 dollars per farm for soil conservation practices. Trial crop insurance in Kent and Charles counties expands, with 50 corn and 35 other farmers enrolled as enrollment nears end.
