Eighteen members attended and discussed church repairs, clothing for New Windsor, sewing kits, and donations to the pastor's salary and Cancer Fund. Storied Houses and Gardens of Old Dover Exhibit
Dover’s Treasures to be exhibited next month revives a wartime Dover event. The Storied Houses and Gardens of Old Dover Delaware will display loan collections of silver glass miniatures costumes jewelry maps and more from 1700 to 1850. Notable items include a chronologic Turnip watch a shawl Dolly Madison wore and a Cape Cod captain tea set. The exhibit highlights Delaware silversmiths and early American craftsmanship with pieces from Peale Sully and St Memin among others. Proceeds support restoration of the Old Presbyterian Church as part of the Old Dover Day.

American Legion Auxiliary Seeks New Members for 1948
Caroline Unit No. 29, The American Legion Auxiliary, aims to boost membership beyond its 1948 quota of 35, hoping to add at least 15 by August. A $2.50 prize will reward the member who recruits the most new members, with a prize for a new member. A bingo party is planned for April 30 at the Community Club House in Denton, followed by poppy sales in May. Proceeds fund Child Welfare and Rehabilitation, with veterans paid for poppy production. local unit funds support projects. The group also plans a rummage sale and will sponsor two Girls State attendees, seeking broader organizational support. Last year Patricia Pine, from Caroline County, was Girls State Governor.

Murder Suicide Ends Two Greensboro Lives
In Greensboro last week, Raymond Louis Murphy, 40, killed his wife Anna with a .22 rifle then shot himself. The crime, ruled murder and suicide, occurred amid domestic tensions. seven children survive. Neighbors reported prior threats. Discovery followed a Tuesday night search near Marblehead farm. Funeral services were held Saturday at Greensboro Cemetery with burial at Ings Funeral Home.
