Rev S Roberts and Miss Margaret Smith celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Defiance county. The couple, both in good health at 75 and 74, have long served Ohio Methodism with notable posts in Bellefontaine Kenton Crestline Defiance Euclid Ave Toledo Paulding and Findlay districts. A public reception featured speeches from local and area leaders and gifts totaling 170 dollars.

Spangler Brothers Elevator Burns in Water Street Fire

Spangler Brothers grain elevator and warehouse on Water Street near Clinton Street Bridge were destroyed by fire Friday night. A Dickman shed and Armstrong residence were damaged. the cause remains unknown and the district fire brigade saved surrounding structures. The elevator valued at 15000 with 1500 insurance lost 500 bushels wheat 1800 rye 1400 barley 500 corn 6000 oats and five hogs. firefighters suffered burns while battling the blaze.

Death of Mrs. Dora Dreher in Findlay

Mrs Dora Dreher widow of Henry Dreher died Wednesday at her mother Mary Rauth’s Emery street home at age twenty one from typhoid fever. She is survived by brothers Thomas and John Rauth. Funeral Saturday at St John’s Catholic Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery.

Mandamus Granted Against Hicksville Mayor Over Liquor Case

James H Maxwell and Harvey Dowell of Hicksville win a mandamus against Mayor Benjamin Casebeer after he fined them 200 dollars each for selling intoxicating liquor without a license. George W Moore executor sues for 3000 alleging county board failure to provide guard rails caused Albert Moore death and LeRoy Carpenter drowning March 28 1904 while crossing the raised road to the English bridge as river waters flooded the area.
