Condition of Wheat Crop in Ohio and Other Farm Prospects

The October crop bulletin from the state board of agriculture reports Ohio wheat at 78 percent of average, with 150000 acres less sown than last year. It lists figures for wheat, barley, rye, corn, buckwheat, potatoes, apples, hogs, and fertilizer use, plus local notes on residents and commerce including sales at Wellsman’s Music Store and a fabric leather company’s potential move. The report includes farm activity around Williams County and incidents such as a car bumpers accident at the B and O depot.

Beilharz Found Guilty on Paternity Charge Twice

In Judge Barber's court a jury again convicted Harry Beilharz, a superior street tailor, of paternity in a case brought by the Humane Society on Miss Alice Brownell. Two trials yielded guilty verdicts. settlement offers were rejected as void. Additional indictments for abandonment hang over him.

Pioneer widow Mrs. William Churchman Dies in Tiffin Township

Mrs. William Churchman died at her home in Tiffin township at 3 p m on Thursday aged 72. She was a pioneer county woman and sister of Adam, Jesse, William and Frank Hall. Funeral is set for 10 a m on Sunday.

Veteran Civil War veteran Bridenbaugh dies at home

William H. Bridenbaugh died at his Harrison street home at 12:30 a.m. of pneumonia. Born May 22, 1883 in Fairfield County, he moved to Noble township as a child. Enlisting in Company D, 100 O. V. I., he served with gallantry and belonged to the G A R and U V W. Survived by wife Sarah Black and four children, his funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. E. D. Whitlock officiating. burial at Brunnersburg.

Deputy supervisor of elections in Defiance county and witnesses tally the returns at the courthouse. Hubbard leads Kilits by 197 in the district with 3154 to 1957 in the two counties, while three disputed ballots remain unresovled and no changes to the official totals in all counties.
