Home repairs include J F Schultz adding to his Wayne street house and a new cement walk replacing excavations in front of a local residence.
Walter Wilhelm, named a cadet prospect to West Point by Congressman John Snook, left for Fort Thomas Kentucky Tuesday with friend Carl Kettenring. He faces an examination Thursday and, if successful, must report for duty in June. Walter is the second son of the late John R. Wilhelm of Holgate Avenue.
Josiah McElroy sues W O Stever executor of Mary A Wank for 3033.25 for services during the deceased’s life. C W Kerns, carpenter, files suit against M R Sigler for back taxes.

Will Kniss, B. and O. depot express agent, released two coops of carrier pigeons at 9 a m. The birds owned by B F Mullenix of Toledo were described as the finest lot ever sent to the city. They flew off in fine style and drifted eastward out of sight.

Attorneys for Defiance Water Company protest council plans to move eighteen thousand dollars from the water fund to city general use. The dispute centers on a claim the city owes over fifty thousand dollars for water, with the water fund long tied up while the city borrowed to cover expenses. The new State Bank was organized at a Monday meeting with directors Peter Kettenring Wm Geiger E E Carter R Brown I W Gotshall W P Engel and H F Toberen. Officers elected are President Peter Kettenring Vice President Wm Geiger and Cashier Elbert E Carter. The bank will remodel the Karst building at Third and Clinton streets with Theo Hein Furniture Co Toledo handling remodeling and furnishings. Capital stock is 50000 and opening date to be announced after interior work is finished.

Excitement rose near the B and O depot as Minnie Gallimore a fifteen year old girl reported an attempted assault by a tramp from freight train No 96 near the Standard Oil plant. Officer John McGushin was called but the tramp fled with the freight. Gallimore criticized the officer and court action may follow once he returns. Will C Conners previously served time in the penitentiary for criminal assault on the same girl.
