Marines Promote Powell and Honor Stewart at Base
Private First Class Eugene A. Powell of Deer Park Texas earned a promotion while with the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton. He is a 1975 Deer Park High School graduate who joined the Marines in September 1975. Airman First Class Ronald W. Stewart of Houston Texas was named Outstanding Airman of the Quarter at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

The Texas Association for Retarded Citizens State Convention comes to Waco April 8 to 10. Graduation invitations are handed out at the high school April 8 from 10 30 a m to 1 30 p m. The Texas Library Association Convention is in Houston April 9. Schools dismiss early for spring break on April 9 and remain closed through April 16. The American Cancer Association Bike A Thon is April 10. The National School Boards Association Convention runs April 10 to 14 in San Francisco. A special TV program on the Special Olympics airs on Channel 13 April 11.
