Final Work Is Held by Joe Louis Before Jersey Joe Walcott Bout

Joe Louis and Jersey Joe Walcott prepared for their 15 round heavyweight title clash at Yankee Stadium with confidence high. Louis predicted a quick finish and aimed to defend the crown in what could be his last ring appearance, while Walcott, the comeback hopeful, sought to upset the champion. Louis trained in Pompton Lakes and weighed around 213, aiming for 214 to 215 at weigh in. Walcott tapered in Grenloch before moving to New York for the weigh in at roughly 195.
