Nail extraction saves girl using magnet and mine detector
Kay Shaw, a two year old from Porterdale, Georgia, swallowed a bent nail found in a carpenter set. Doctors at Ponce De Leon clinic used a mine detector to locate the nail and then fed the child a magnet suspended on a string while she was held head down. The magnet drew the nail out, ending a risky incident.

Escapee Royer Held After Arkansas Arrest Returned To Alabama
Former Moulton minister Iyor Royer age 62, jailed in Forest City Arkansas after a tip from farm woman Mrs Fill Fisher Gill. Royer, an escapee from Draper prison since 1945, is to be returned to Alabama to complete a life term for slaying 80 year old Frank Pickens. Escaped slayer Royer brought to trial in murder case
Campbell described the accused as six feet tall and about 200 pounds and respectable looking. Royer was convicted of first degree murder in an August trial after Pickens was killed July 21, 1934, on his farm east of Moulton. Judge W. W. Callahan presided.
