Branch Rickey May Trade Behrman and Weigh Furillo Deal
In Minneapolis Branch Rickey signals willingness to swap Hank Behrman and avoid bargaining over Carl Furillo. Speculation asks if Rickey would listen to offers for Carl while rejecting bids for Hank. Big George Mikan projects around 1,800 points this season, about 500 more than Joe Fulks. Detroit Lions attendance declined about 25,000 this year, yet losses under $137,000 in 1947 were trimmed. Gus Niarkos of the Yankees stalls Greek MLB presence but Gus Triandos of Twin Falls Idaho could rise. When Greek meets Greek, they may run the stadium club.
