The Alabama Supreme Court told the Senate the proposed state wide stock law is constitutional. The chamber also moved ahead with 24 bills, including a stock law measure, while adjourning for a winter recess and planning night sessions to finish Agenda.
A Public Works Administration spokesman said the halt on further PWA fund releases to Alabama projects was extended by Federal Works Administrator John M. Carmody but not to all Alabama developments. The move follows Alabama Attorney General T. B. Lawson’s claim of a state public power law dispute, with a later announcement expected on how many projects remain affected.
Governor Frank M. Dixon informs Federal Works Administrator John Carmody that a pending bill applying Booth public power act principles to water works will not reach the Alabama legislature floor. He says the bill lacks Senate committee approval and administration support.

Seven year old Pauline Burgess died at Benevolent hospital after being trapped in a blazing hay truck when a door latch hung delaying her uncle Madison Hart from reaching her. Fire consumed the vehicle after a gasoline tank exploded. Hart was slightly burned. Pauline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Burgess, died the afternoon of the incident in Lacon community. Funeral services set for Andrews Chapel at 1 30 with Rev Lannie Smallwood. pallbearers and flowers listed.
Funeral services for J. P. Tarver a 72 year old Hart selle jeweler killed crossing near Wheeler Lake tourist camp will be held Thursday at 3 30 in the Hart sel le Methodist church. Interment will be in Hart sel le cemetery with Peck directing. Survivors include wife a daughter Mrs R Clements of Birmingham a son Raymon of Cullman and a sister and a brother. W. W. Dinsmore was elected president for the first year with R. E. Rogers as vice president and Leroy McEntire as secretary treasurer. Directors met to discuss incorporation, stock subscriptions from about 75 locals, site planning, and milk route contracts. The plant aims to operate without compensation this year as papers are drawn.
