Decatur Police Drop Clark Search After Escape Return
Decatur police were told Terrill Clark, an armed robber and escapee from Camp Hamilton, had returned to custody. Clark, 27, reportedly fled during a July 17, 1950 escape with other convicts and was later located after throwing a cigarette lighter at a truckload of prisoners near Pritchard, Alabama. He had been serving a 15 year sentence for a July 1949 robbery at the Watkins-Perry Grill.

Man Slays Five in Abandoned Home Tragedy
Edwin H. Reynolds 27, former lodger, is charged with killing Fred J. Dusza 39, Beatrice Dusza 31, and their three children after the Duszas’ separation. The victims were found in the burned wreckage of their East Greenwhich home. Reynolds had lodged with the family since last Christmas.

A lawsuit filed in Montgomery circuit court seeks to block election of more than one state representative from each county until reapportionment. Fires damage two city businesses in 13 hour span
Two fires within 13 hours yesterday caused damage in a cabinet shop at 45 Sherman Street and a truck owned by Farm Industries near the West Decatur water tank.
