Trains Collide Injuring Fifty Two Near Connellsville
A Baltimore and Ohio passenger train collided head on with an express near Connellsville station injuring 45 passengers and seven crew members. The crash occurred two minutes after No. 21 left the station en route from Baltimore to Cleveland while No. 32 raced from Chicago to Jersey City. One hospitalized passenger, 80 year old Mrs. Kate Michel of Connellsville, suffered a possible skull fracture.

In Dyersburg Tennessee on August 29 a sixteen year old Donald Austin wrecked his father's new car. He and two other occupants were only scratched. Overcome by conscience he retrieved his father's shotgun and shot himself to death as his nine year old brother stood nearby.
