Washington reports hens exposed to ultraviolet light laid 10 to 19 percent more eggs. Five years of tests at Beltsville Maryland’s agricultural research center in a specially built underground poultry house produced conclusive results. Korean Confesses Cable Cutting Sabotage at Port

Head-on Car Crash Injures Two on Fourth Avenue
City police report two slight injuries and heavy vehicle damage after a head-on collision at Fourth Avenue and Prospect Drive about 8:25 A.M. The 1939 Ford was driven by Woodrow W. Golden of Austinville, the 1941 Dodge by Therald D. Franklin of East Third Avenue. Franklin had a forehead cut and Golden a mouth injury. Investigators C. M. Kennedy and Alex Terry led the scene inquiry.

Egyptian and French swimmers break Channel Race record
Hassan Abd El Rehim of Egypt and Roger Le Morvan of France completed the English Channel crossing in a mass race sponsored by The London Daily Mail. Rehim set a new record at 10 hours 53 minutes, with Morvan close at 11 hours 3 minutes. Mareeh Hassan Hamad of Egypt finished third in 12 hours 16 minutes.
