Warmer forecast hinted then cooling by Sunday

Weather reporters described a brief warmer trend followed by a cooling weekend. Rain was expected off and on into tomorrow with showers Sunday. Temperatures were slated to rise to the upper 40s to mid 50s, with overnight lows near 40 in Livermore and surrounding areas. Roadways were open but chains advised for travel as rain and snow target higher elevations. Snow levels projected at 6,000 to 7,000 feet, likely dampening skiing below those heights while visibility could be limited at the peaks.
