State conservationist optimistic about SCS budget draft
Wisconsin SCS state conservationist Clifford Maguire says the Senate will likely approve the $584 million soil and water conservation budget after the House passed it. He notes the revised fiscal year 1981 budget preserves much of PL 566 and RC D D funding, while still tightening due to inflation. He expects more local grants and planning incentives and asserts Reagan officials remain committed to conservation with higher local control.
