Weather log notes a week of extreme heat across area stations, Chippewa Falls reaching 101 degrees last Friday, Dunn and Pierce counties at 98, only two counties reporting rainfall under one tenth of an inch. Nightly cooling to about 30 degrees offered some relief, Jackson County's 50 degree low being the coolest, Dunn County 64.
