Western Dairyland opposes county bid for CSBG funds
Western Dairyland EOC warns Eau Claire County faces loss of a $1.17 million social program if a proposed $83,000 Community Services Block Grant is approved. Gary Edelman says the agency serves four counties and operates 16 programs with 5.3 percent admin costs. He argues CSBG funds must support institutional advocacy and cannot substitute for the budget, stressing the four-county operation sustains weatherization, loan scholarships, farming programs, outreach, employment services, recycling, Head Start, and senior volunteer work, all critical to residents.
