PCB tainted silos found in Michigan countryside
Michigan officials report 253 of 8569 suspect silos tested contain PCBs. Most were built or sealed with PCB sealants by Michigan Silo Co. between 1941 and 1966. Some milk from dairy farms with tainted silos shows trace PCB levels, within federal limits.

EPA urges lower heptachlor in Hawaiian milk nationwide
The EPA and FDA recommend cutting the acceptable heptachlor level from 0.3 to 0.1 parts per million in milk products nationwide after reviewing Hawaii’s milk supply. Officials warn long term exposure could damage the liver, especially for children. The contaminant entered milk via contaminated pineapple forage fed to cattle in Hawaii.
