UW Extension test plot evaluates 15 soybean varieties
In steady rain Chippewa County agent Cal Kraemer and UW Extension agronomist Ed Oplinger lead a field review of 15 soybean varieties and a faba bean test plot. Some varieties show lower yields due to prior drought stress while Arlingon and Antigo plots report mixed results with pests and disease impacting faba beans. Seed company offerings expand, and local soybean association notes 400 members. A full statewide report will follow via UW Extension offices.
