The Baier family continues farm life at Wayside Acres in Pierce County with a mostly homebred Holstein herd. Wayne Baier earns praise for hard work while the farm, praised by foreign dairy farmers, sells bulls abroad and to area dairymen.
Wayne Baier and son Roger raise a registered Wisconsin dairy herd aiming for strong genetics and merchandising profits. They evaluate bulls like Astronaut and Jewel for precise udder and leg traits, husband cows to peak performance, while expanding into export merchandise and annual farm show judging. Their management includes year round barn housing, selective feeding, and a focus on a high average production.
