Area students shine in sixth annual agriculture contest
Students from District 1 Technical Institute Eau Claire and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute New Richmond led a strong showing at the sixth annual agriculture contest. Ten technical institutes attended a two day event with 148 participants and an annual meeting. Winners include Emil Geise and team in Farm Operations, Ken Tyznik and team in Ag Mechanics, Florence Hamp and Fred Horne among others, with high individual honors for Larry Michaelson and John Sandberg. Western Wisconsin Technical Institute La Crosse earned first in Technology Display and was named outstanding agrifutures chapter of the year.
