Trempealeau Dairy Breakfast celebrates June Dairy Month near Pigeon Falls
The 1986 Trempealeau County Dairy Farm Breakfast hosted by Charles and Carol Finstad will be held June 14 from 6 to 11 am on their Fuller Coulee farm near Pigeon Falls. Admission is 1.50 for adults and 1 for students. under 6 free. The event features pancakes sausages milk butter cheese and ice cream along with music drawings and a 10:30 am coronation of the Trempealeau County Dairy Princess. The Finstads farm over 400 acres with a 52 cow herd averaging 17 000 pounds of milk per cow and 650 pounds of butterfat.

Second farm tragedy strikes Barron couple
A 3-year-old boy in Barron County, Levi Chandler of Rice Lake, died when a feeder wagon driven by his father passed over him. Bradley and Judy Chandler’s son was pronounced dead at Lakeview Medical Center after an accident in the barnyard. This follows the family tragedy earlier this year when their older son Will, 5, lost his left foot in a barn-related incident.
