Original plans envisioned 2x1000 cow units, expanding to 5000 cows plus a processing plant in Americus, with expansion potential to 2000 cows per unit.
In Iowa County Wisconsin brothers Delano and Nordeen Gilbertson blend poultry with beef to balance income. Norwood Poultry houses 84,000 Leghorn hens producing about 74,000 eggs daily at peak, with manure enriching 1,100 acres. Dennis now runs the poultry, while beef grazing continues on rolling hills for year round cash flow.
