Interim Rusk County agent lands new UW extension post
Interim Rusk County agent Tom Earlywine will leave his post at end of May after ten months to return to UW Madison to pursue a master’s in dairy science and work half time with UW Extension as Dr Terry Howard’s assistant. He credits the UW Madison computer data banks and the WISPLAN system for aiding county farmers and notes growing farmer interest in microcomputer use, with costs trending down. Earlywine recalls assisting with pest profiles and dairy programs, while acknowledging computer limits and the need for careful handling. He will be replaced by Roger Flashinski, who will transition from graduate studies to advising farmers and completing his master's thesis over the summer.
