Hearings reopen on 345000-volt NSP powerline project

The Wisconsin PSC will hold hearings in Madison and six other towns in mid to late January on Northern States Power Co. proposed 345 kV transmission line from Prairie Island Minnesota to the Eau Claire substation. The addendum to the environmental impact statement reviews routing and stray voltage concerns affecting dairy cattle, with sessions led by Dr. Don Bosman and Dr. David M. Olszyk.

Farmers Union fights hearing on reconstituted milk pricing

Farmers Union President Lee Mulder urged the USDA to deny a hearing on a petition by the Community Nutrition Institute to change reconstituted milk pricing under federal orders.
